A snow storm blew in the Friday night before Christmas and lightening hit the power pole right next to our house. It put the power out for 4 hours, but the worst part of the entire ordeal was it also toasted my computer. I lost the DSL modem, the USB port my printer was connected too (my printer survived just fine), and my network driver. Thank goodness for Kelly P, Ronald, and Qwest Technical Support. Qwest for frustrated me until I could scream. Kelly & Ron for assisting in diagnosing and troubleshooting. Ron again for staying until 11:00 pm to replace fried parts. Qwest (bless their hearts) for giving me my passwords so I could finally connect to the Internet again. I now have a new DSL Modem, a new Network driver, and only one bad USB port. It scared me into buying a external driver and Ron suggested I get Netscape Ghost and put a copy of my system on the external drive for back-up. I never realized how dependent I have become on a computer and the especially the Internet.
A moment of silence please to bless Dan Quayle for inventing the Internet.

I may have the wrong guy but didn't Al Gore claim inventing the internet? Nat, had an external hard drive when her computer crashed she just had pictures and music on it but it saved all her pictures.
